# International Aerospace Camp The International Aerospace Camp is hosted by the University of North Dakota's John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences - home to one of the largest collegiate flight training fleets in the world. Over five days on the Grand Forks campus, high school juniors and seniors fly with UND flight instructors, work the school's professional simulators and labs, and survey aerospace careers from piloting to air traffic control to unmanned aircraft. Two 2026 sessions ran June 14-19 and June 21-26, and both filled. ## What You'll Do - Take real flight lessons in UND aircraft, progressing from basics toward cross-country, instrument, and night flying - Train in flight simulators and control pseudo-aircraft on air traffic control simulators - Learn about the UAS industry and drone operations at a national leader in unmanned aviation - Study flight physiology, including altitude chamber exposure - Live in UND residence halls with room, board, and all camp transportation included ## Who Should Apply 11th and 12th grade students serious about aviation or aerospace careers. The $2,200 fee covers room and board, all flights and flight instruction, activities, and tours; an optional helicopter experience adds $400. The 2026 sessions are full - registration for the next summer typically opens in winter. ## Outcomes Campers log actual flight instruction time with a top collegiate aviation program, sample every major aerospace career track in one week, and leave with a realistic basis for choosing flight, ATC, UAS, or aerospace engineering paths - plus a preview of UND's aerospace degrees.
