What Is Young Marines?
Young Marines is a national nonprofit youth education and service program for young people from age eight through high-school graduation. Members join a local unit led by screened adult volunteers and take part in leadership development, teamwork, discipline, physical activity, community service, citizenship, outdoor activities, and education supporting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. It is a civilian youth program; families should not treat participation as military enlistment or a future-service commitment.
Enrollment is handled by local units throughout the year. The national annual registration fee is $50, while each unit may charge additional enrollment, uniform, equipment, activity, transportation, or travel costs. Because schedules, openings, fees, gear, and onboarding vary, the accurate next step is to locate a unit and attend its informational meeting before registering.
