Adirondack Youth Climate Summit

# Adirondack Youth Climate Summit Founded in 2006, the Adirondack Youth Climate Summit is The Wild Center's flagship youth climate event and the model that has been replicated at youth climate summits around the world. It combines plenary sessions and workshops into a high-energy, two-day educational experience for young people across the Adirondacks and Northern New York. The 2026 Summit runs October 21-22 at The Wild Center in Tupper Lake, and registration is open. ## What You'll Do - Attend plenary sessions with climate scientists, practitioners, and youth leaders - Choose hands-on workshops covering climate science, communication, and community solutions - Work with your school or community group to draft a Climate Action Plan you can actually implement - Meet delegations from other schools and community organizations across the region - Take home The Wild Center's Climate Action Planning resources and mini-grant information ## Who Should Apply High school students attending as part of a school or community-group delegation, with an adult adviser. Over 100 high school students from schools and community groups across Northern New York State typically attend. Groups register through The Wild Center and follow the published group expectations checklist before, during, and after the Summit. ## Outcomes Students leave with a written Climate Action Plan and the network to carry it out. The Wild Center's Youth Climate Program supports follow-through with Climate Action Planning resources, the Forces for Change guide to New York's Climate Smart Communities program, and the ClimaTeens Emerging Leadership fellowship for Adirondack-region youth.
