What Is AP Art and Design Portfolio?
AP Art and Design assesses a portfolio in 2-D Art and Design, 3-D Art and Design, or Drawing, rather than an end-of-course written exam. Students submit sustained investigation images, written evidence and selected works through the AP Digital Portfolio. All three components must be final by May 7, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern; a school may set an earlier deadline.
Join a class or exam-only section in My AP and arrange the correct exam order with an AP coordinator, including if you study independently or are homeschooled. The 2026-27 base fee is $99 in the U.S., territories, Canada and DoWEA schools, or $129 elsewhere, with test-center variations, need-based reductions and possible additional charges. Art supplies are separate. Follow originality, citation and AI policies; credit depends on the receiving institution.
