What Is Science-Expo Belgique?
Science-Expo Belgique is a two-day public exhibition of scientific and technical projects organized by Jeunesses Scientifiques de Belgique. Participants ages roughly 12-20 work individually or in teams for weeks or months, often with a teacher, parent, facilitator, or mentor, then explain an interactive stand to visitors and experts. Competition is optional within the wider exhibition; selected projects can win opportunities to represent Belgium at international science expos.
The detailed 2026 rules divided entries into lower secondary (years 1-3, up to five participants) and upper secondary (years 4-7, up to three). Accepted work could be science communication, experimentation, or design in Fundamental, Life, Molecular, Society, or Technology categories. Projects had to follow extensive safety, intellectual-property, AI-citation, and full-attendance requirements. Judges considered scientific method and accuracy, critical thinking, research, public value, stand quality, communication, interaction, and originality.
