What Is Boston University Tanglewood Institute Young?
Boston University Tanglewood Institute (BUTI) offers selective residential summer music workshops and Young Artists Programs in Lenox, Massachusetts. Advanced instrumentalists, singers and composers study with faculty, rehearse and perform in intensive cohorts while participating in the wider Tanglewood setting and attending many Boston Symphony Orchestra and Tanglewood Music Center events. TMC itself is a separate program.
General 2027 BUTI applications open November 1,2026 and are due January 19,2027. Later applications may be reviewed only if space remains; no final late cutoff or unlimited rolling admission is promised. These are deadlines. Current discipline-specific repertoire, programme terms and future prices need confirmation.
