What Is Columbia Climate School Pre-College Programs?
This family combines the Columbia Climate School in the Green Mountains, a residential climate-action program in Castleton, Vermont, with periodically offered virtual academic-year workshops. It is not held on Columbia's New York City campus. The completed Summer 2026 Green Mountains session ran July 5-17 for grades 9-12 and motivated rising ninth graders, cost USD 7,290 plus travel and a USD 200 application fee, and used seminars, field excursions, collaborative projects, and discussions with Columbia climate experts. Full and partial need-based scholarships were available to eligible U.S. residents. The Climate School currently says no academic-year workshops are being offered, and it has not announced Summer 2027 dates, fees, or deadlines. When offered, virtual workshops normally provide 15 hours of project-based instruction over seven Saturdays and currently list USD 1,900 per workshop.
