# Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP) For more than 40 years, DAPCEP has connected Detroit-area young people to hands-on STEM education, today serving more than 16,000 youth annually in partnership with universities, corporations, and community organizations. High schoolers register each season for Saturday classes and summer camps held on college and university campuses throughout southeastern Michigan. ## What You'll Do - Take Saturday "Pathfinders" courses in topics such as computer programming, video game design, artificial intelligence, urban design architecture, entrepreneurship, and zoo science - Attend summer camps ranging from commuter weeks to residential programs where you live on campus and preview college life while studying STEM topics (some include experiences like drone certification) - Learn on university campuses alongside peers from across metro Detroit - Register per session through DAPCEP's online enrollment portal ## Who Should Apply Detroit-area students from kindergarten through 12th grade; high schoolers pick age-banded courses that match their interests. Course offerings and fees vary by season and site, and a financial aid application is available for qualified students. ## Outcomes DAPCEP students build a multi-year STEM track record on real college campuses, sample fields from coding to architecture before choosing a college major, and join one of Michigan's longest-running and best-connected pre-college engineering communities.
