eCYBERMISSION STEM Competition
Organization: U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP)
Program Overview
A free, virtual STEM competition where 6–9 grade teams solve real-world community problems with science and engineering.
eCYBERMISSION is a free, web‑based STEM competition for middle school students in grades 6–9. In teams of two to four, students identify a problem in their community and use either the scientific method or engineering design process to develop and present a solution. Projects can span areas like environmental science, health, technology, and engineering. The competition is part of the U.S. Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) and is open to students across the United States and Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools. Participants gain experience in research, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication while working with an adult Team Advisor; some teams may also receive guidance from volunteer STEM professionals. Successful teams can earn savings bonds and other awards, and top projects are invited to a national award event.
