What Is 2026 FIRST Global Challenge?
FIRST Global will bring national robotics teams from 190+ countries to Incheon, Republic of Korea, October 7-10, 2026. The Igniting Innovation season centers on wildfire prevention, mitigation and recovery. Teams build and program a robot from a standardized educational kit, compete and collaborate in an international game, and research a locally relevant emerging-technology solution through the New Technology Experience.
Students cannot apply directly to the international event. Each country has one national team selected by its in-country FIRST Global partner. Eligible students are ages 14-18. The official traveling team has three to five students, one adult technical mentor/coach and one team organizer, although additional students and mentors may help with the robot at home. Selection method, application materials, calendar and costs vary by country; the international site does not publish a universal student deadline or participant price.
