What Is Florida Envirothon?

The Florida Envirothon is an outdoor natural resource education program for high school students in grades 9–12. Teams answer written questions and carry out hands-on projects in forestry, wildlife, aquatics, soils and a current environmental issue. The Key Dates page lists Saturday, April 10, 2027 at IFAS Live Oak, 8202 Co Rd 417, Live Oak, Florida. Its heading still says Florida Envirothon 2026, so confirm the applicable calendar with the organizer. The competition hours of 7:45 a.m.–2:30 p.m. are tentative and have no published timezone. April 10 is the competition date, rather than an application cutoff.

High school students represent an organization, such as a public or private high school, a homeschool group, a 4-H group, or an intern or volunteer group at an aquarium, museum or nature center. A complete competing team needs at least one primary advisor and five team members, and may include up to two advisors and seven original roster members. Only five members represent the original team during competition; alternates may join Z Fusion teams, which can receive category awards but cannot win the top overall places. Teams with fewer than five members or an ineligible substitution may participate but cannot win category awards or overall places.
