What Is VEX Robotics World Championship?
The VEX Robotics World Championship is the culminating event for teams that advance through the official VEX competition system. For 2026-27, that system is administered through events.vex.com by VEX Robotics with the Global Robotics & Science Foundation. Teams register for a program, design, build, program, test, and document their robot, compete at official local or league events, and can advance through judged awards, tournament results, Robot Skills rankings, Signature Events, regional or national championships, and other approved routes.
A U.S. team's season registration costs $200. Event fees, robot hardware, game materials, shipping, travel, lodging, and any Worlds registration are additional and variable. High-school V5 teams play the 2026-27 game Override; the official manual and Q&A are updated during the season, so teams must work from the current version.
