What Is Freerice?

Freerice is the World Food Programme’s educational trivia game. Correct answers trigger sponsor funding for WFP’s work; the displayed grains of rice represent that financial contribution rather than a tracked shipment of rice. You can play in a browser with or without an account, and an account lets you track contributions and join groups.

Play is self-paced. Freerice offers a downloadable volunteer certificate that players fill out themselves, but WFP cannot individually verify service hours. Confirm your school’s requirements before treating play as recognized community service. Account consent and school-data privacy arrangements should also be checked where relevant.
