Program Overview
Google awards $10,000 scholarships to high school seniors from underrepresented groups planning to study computer science or a related field. Recipients also receive an invitation to the Google Scholars' Retreat.
## About the Generation Google Scholarship The Generation Google Scholarship supports students from underrepresented groups in computer science and technology to help build a diverse pipeline of future technology leaders. Managed by Google and administered through the Institute of International Education (IIE), the scholarship provides both financial support and access to Google's professional community. ### Award Details - **Amount**: $10,000 (one-time award) - **Additional benefit**: Invitation to Google Scholars' Retreat at a Google office - **Application Deadline**: December annually - **Application Portal**: buildyourfuture.withgoogle.com/scholarships/generation-google-scholarship/ ### Eligibility Requirements - Identify as Black/African American, Hispanic/Latinx, Native American, or a person with a disability - OR identify as female (for the female-focused version of the scholarship) - High school senior planning to enroll full-time at a U.S. university the following fall - Planning to major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field - Minimum 3.2 GPA - U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DACA status - Demonstrated leadership and passion for technology ### Selection Criteria - Academic excellence - Demonstrated leadership in computer science (clubs, competitions, personal projects) - Passion for technology and innovation - Community involvement - Personal statement ### Google Scholars' Retreat Selected scholars are invited to a retreat at a Google office where they can network with Google employees, other scholars, and technology professionals — providing connections that can launch careers.
