What Is Global Classrooms International Model United?
The original UNA-USA/UN Foundation-era listing has changed ownership. Since 2016, Lebanese American University has managed the Global Classrooms international conferences in New York. The current GCI MUN serves middle- and high-school delegates in grades 6-12 through school registration, country/committee assignments, position-paper preparation, rules of procedure, negotiation, caucusing, public speaking and a multi-day conference.
The completed 2026 conference ran April 24-26 in New York and brought about 1,000 participants from 10 cities; LAU students and alumni organized it. LAU describes participation fees as symbolic, but the public page does not expose a universal dollar amount. UN Headquarters ceremonies or access are explicitly subject to availability and approval, so applicants should not assume them. The next conference dates, fees and registration window are not yet posted.
