What Is Great Books Summer Program Online?
Great Books Summer Program offers live, faculty-led online seminars for intellectually curious students entering grades 6–8 or 9–12. The online family includes Great Books and Big Ideas, centered on college-style discussion of literature, classics, and philosophy, and Writer's Workshop, centered on craft instruction, prompts, drafting, and small-group critique across age-appropriate genres. Program assistants provide mentoring, and listed activities have included guest speakers, open mic, and informal online community time.
The completed 2026 North American sessions were Writer's Workshop on July 5–10 and Great Books and Big Ideas on July 12–17, meeting live from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. Eastern. Separate Asia-time-zone weeks ran later in July. Tuition was $895 for one week, including instruction and readings and incorporating a nonrefundable $95 registration fee. Registration required support from a teacher, principal, or head of school.
