What Is Harvard Model Congress Boston 2027?
HMC Boston is a four-day government-simulation conference for grades 9-12, scheduled for February 18-21, 2027 at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. It is organized by Harvard Model Congress, Inc., a nonprofit whose conference is planned and staffed by Harvard College undergraduates. It is not a Harvard University academic program, course or admissions program; committee programming takes place at the hotel, not on Harvard's campus, although an optional Harvard tour is offered.
More than 1,700 delegates participate across approximately 40 committees. Depending on assignment, students debate and caucus, write bills or resolutions, conduct trials, hold press conferences, give testimony and respond to crises. Harvard undergraduate staff teach parliamentary procedure and public speaking and facilitate the simulations. Delegates receive briefing guides and a pre-conference assignment, but may not bring prewritten speeches, bills or resolutions into committee. Committee sessions are techless unless an individual accommodation is approved.
