What Is Indian Olympiad Qualifier in Mathematics?
IOQM is the first examination in India's 2026-27 Mathematical Olympiad selection program. The 2026 enrollment window is closed; registered students can use the official portal for hall tickets and communications. The offline OMR exam was held at examination centres in India on September 6, 2026. There is no negative marking. Problems emphasize creative reasoning in number theory, geometry, algebra, and combinatorics rather than routine formula use; calculus and statistics are excluded from the indicative scope.
Eligibility is cycle-specific. Students must be in Classes 8-12, be born from August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2014, be eligible to hold an Indian passport, and satisfy detailed residence/Indian-school-system, Class 12 completion, and future-university-start rules. OCI students are provisionally eligible for domestic stages through the stated training-camp point but are not eligible for selection to India's IMO, EGMO, or APMO teams under the published court-order policy. Eligible overseas students must travel to India at their own expense for IOQM and later domestic stages.
