# Kinhaven Music School Senior Session Kinhaven Music School has run its summer programs on a hillside campus in Weston, Vermont since 1952, and the six-week Senior Session is its heart: 90 young musicians in grades 8-12 living and playing together in one of the country's most beloved chamber music communities. The 2026 session ran June 19 through August 2, and students attend all six weeks. ## What You'll Do - Play in chamber groups assigned each week, with dedicated faculty coaches - Perform in symphony orchestra and large ensembles, and sing in chorales - Take weekly private lessons, with composition study and master classes available - Join a tradition of spontaneous music-making, weekend concerts, and community life without competitive rankings ## Who Should Apply String, wind, brass, percussion, and piano students entering grades 8 through 12 who love ensemble playing. Applications open November 1 and are accepted until each studio fills, typically by mid-spring; applicants submit a 5-10 minute representative recording of their playing. All-inclusive tuition for summer 2026 was $8,700, and financial aid is available to qualified students who demonstrate need. ## Outcomes Kinhaven's chamber-first model gives students dozens of coached ensemble experiences in a single summer - the fastest way serious young musicians grow - inside a community many alumni describe as formative.
