What Is Kinhaven Music School Senior Session?
Kinhaven's Senior Session is a six-week residential summer program for about 90 musicians in grades 8-12 on its Weston, Vermont campus. Chamber music is central: students receive a new coached group and carefully matched repertoire each week, alongside symphony and chamber orchestras, large ensembles, at least one weekly private lesson, chorus, weekly performances, and optional composition and chamber choir. Recreation includes art and pottery, folk dancing, swimming, hiking, games, and trips.
The latest detailed session ran June 19-August 2, 2026 and is closed. Its all-inclusive tuition was $8,700, with need-based financial aid; that figure is historical and must not be presented as the 2027 price. Students had to attend all six weeks, and tuition payments were nonrefundable except for forced cancellation.
