What Is College Board National Recognition Program?
The current program awards three designations: School Recognition Award, First-Generation Recognition Award, and Rural and Small-Town Recognition Award.
Students in grades 10 or 11 must have a cumulative B+ GPA (at least 3.3 or 87%–89%) and qualify through either two distinct AP scores of 3 or higher earned by the end of grade 10 or a top-10% eligible PSAT comparison. The comparison group depends on the designation: the student's high school, the state's first-generation test takers, or the state's rural/small-town test takers. First-generation applicants verify parent education; the school-based awards require school verification. Students must have a permanent address in the United States, a U.S. territory, or a U.S. military base, or attend a DoDEA school; citizenship is not required.
