# NCFCA Christian Speech & Debate NCFCA is a national speech and debate league operating independently of the NSDA school-team circuit. Competitors, who range in age from 12 to 18, train through independent clubs that meet in person and online across the country, then compete at qualifying tournaments leading to a national championship each June. ## What You'll Do - Compete in debate: Team Policy (two-person, policy resolution) or Lincoln-Douglas Value Debate - Compete in speech events including Extemporaneous, Impromptu, Persuasive, Informative, Apologetics, Duo Interpretation, Open Interpretation, Oratorical Thematic, Digital Presentation, and Biblical Presentation - Train through a local or online independent club during the fall preparation season - Compete through the winter and spring qualifying tournament season - Advance to Regional Championships and then the National Championship ## Who Should Apply Students ages 12 to 18 whose families affiliate annually with the league; younger competitors have a separate Junior program with its own events and tournaments. Affiliation requires agreement with NCFCA's stated mission, core values, and foundational beliefs, so it suits families looking for a faith-based league. It is a common route for homeschooled and small-school students who lack a school debate team. ## Outcomes NCFCA is one of the largest high school speech and debate leagues in the country outside the NSDA. Competitors build argumentation, research, and delivery skills, earn regional and national tournament records, and gain a competitive résumé line that does not depend on their school offering a team.
