# Non-Trivial Research Fellowship The Non-Trivial Research Fellowship is a fully online summer research program for high schoolers who want to work on problems that matter. Over eight structured weeks (June 15 - August 23, 2026 for the current cohort), fellows design and execute a solo or team research project on a pressing global problem, supported by weekly one-on-one calls with university facilitators. The program is 100% free to apply to and to attend. ## What You'll Do - Choose and scope an original research project, working solo or in a team - Meet weekly one-on-one with a university facilitator for mentorship - Work through a guided research toolkit covering interdisciplinary research methods - Exchange peer feedback and discuss ideas in the fellowship's Discord community - Join exclusive Q&A sessions with expert speakers - Present your findings at a culminating Demo Day ## Who Should Apply Applicants must be 14-20 years old and not yet enrolled in university; students anywhere in the world, including US high schoolers in grades 9-12, are eligible. Expect a minimum commitment of about 10 hours per week on a flexible schedule, so the fellowship can sit alongside a summer job or other programs. ## Outcomes Fellows finish with a completed research project, a public Demo Day presentation, and experience running an independent investigation end to end. Project grants of up to $1,000 are available by application, and top projects in Non-Trivial's programs have earned scholarships of $2,000 to $10,000.
