IASC organises citizen-science asteroid searches using professional telescope image sets. Teams use Astrometrica to measure moving objects and submit reports through IASC for review. A numbered discovery can eventually receive a name; submitting a detection is an earlier step.
Teams need at least two members, a Windows computer and internet. Choose an available campaign, complete the linked registration form and email it to IASC. Partner campaigns may require registration through their named collaborator. Registration processing takes several business days, and teams may be assigned to the next available International campaign. IASC has described its citizen-science service as no-cost. Confirm current campaign dates, any collaborator-specific charges and participant equipment or internet expenses.
