What Is Rhodes Scholarship?
The Rhodes Scholarship is a fully funded postgraduate award for full-time study at the University of Oxford. Scholars normally spend two or more years at Oxford in an eligible master's, DPhil or approved course combination and join a lifelong international fellowship with leadership, service, career and community programming. The award covers Oxford course fees and a stipend, plus specified visa, health-surcharge, travel, application and settling-in costs.
Selection considers academic excellence; sustained achievement beyond the classroom; service, courage, kindness and fellowship; and moral character and leadership. Applicants must have or be completing an undergraduate degree and must satisfy the exact citizenship or residency, age, academic, English-language and endorsement rules for a Rhodes constituency. There is no single worldwide age rule, deadline, referee count or nomination process. The catch-all Global Scholarship route is currently suspended, so applicants from countries outside active constituencies must not assume a Global application exists.
