# Rhodes Summer Academy The Rhodes Summer Academy is a two-week residential pre-college program at Rhodes College, a liberal arts college set on a historic wooded campus in Memphis, Tennessee. High school students live in Rhodes residence halls, take credit-bearing college courses taught by Rhodes faculty, and get to know Memphis through city excursions. Course offerings span academic fields such as coding, chemistry, medicine, entrepreneurship, and business, and the program pairs classroom work with co-curricular workshops designed to demystify the college application process. ## What You'll Do - Take a college-level, credit-bearing course taught by Rhodes faculty in a small-class setting - Live on the Rhodes campus for two weeks and experience residential college life - Join city excursions that use Memphis as an extension of the classroom - Attend workshops that help you prepare for college applications and admissions ## Who Should Apply Rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors from across the country are invited to apply. The 2026 Academy ran June 21 to July 2, and applications for the next cycle open November 1 through the Rhodes website; contact summeracademy@rhodes.edu with questions. No prior college coursework is required. ## Outcomes Participants leave with college credit from an accredited liberal arts college, a syllabus-tested sense of how they handle real college academics, and workshop guidance they can apply directly to their applications. The residential format also gives students an early, low-stakes trial of living on a college campus.
