What Is University of Chicago Summer Session?
UChicago's pre-college portfolio is not one uniform residential program. It includes one-week enrichment, two-week career/academic experiences, three-week undergraduate-level immersion, four-week laboratory or field practica, three-to-five-week online courses, a six-to-eight-week online language institute, partner programs, and a separate CPS academic-year route. Grade, age, prerequisites, modality, residence, credit, schedule, and price depend on the course. Three- and four-week courses carry graded UChicago credit; one- and two-week programs do not.
Summer 2026 applications are closed. Published prices ranged from USD 2,500 for one-week residential enrichment to USD 15,200 for a four-week practicum; remote programs cost USD 4,980-8,550. The application required a transcript, graded English writing sample, short essay/supplement, one teacher recommendation, guardian confirmation, and USD 75 fee, with no test score required. Need-based aid was limited and had to be requested at application.
