# Seacamp Seacamp is a residential marine science camp on Big Pine Key in the Florida Keys, founded more than 60 years ago by Irene Hooper and still family-run today. Campers spend their session doing marine research and exploration using snorkeling and scuba skills on an extraordinary waterfront campus, alongside classic camp activities like sailing, lifesaving, windsurfing, photography, arts and crafts, and campcraft. ## What You'll Do - Choose from marine science course offerings that combine labs, wading trips, kayaking, and boat trips on Keys waters - Snorkel reef, seagrass, and mangrove habitats with trained instructors - Add scuba instruction (two-week sessions, additional fee) or try sailing and windsurfing - Live on the Big Pine Key campus with campers from around the country and world ## Who Should Apply Ocean-minded students ages 12-17 for the two-week sessions, with one-week sessions open to ages 10-17 - so middle schoolers are squarely in range. Registration is rolling through the camp office; registering with a deposit by December 31 earns a $100 discount, and scholarships and payment plans are available. ## Outcomes Campers build real field-science skills, water confidence, and often scuba experience years before most peers. Two-week 2026 sessions cost $5,050 (plus $650 for scuba) and one-week sessions cost $2,300, with sibling discounts offered.
