# Sejong Korea Scholars Program The Sejong Korea Scholars Program is a college-level online course on modern Korean history and society, with an emphasis on US-Korea relations, offered by the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE) at the Freeman Spogli Institute. Each year the program selects 20-25 exceptional high school students (grades 10-12) from throughout the United States for a spring term running February through early June. ## What You'll Do - Attend about 12 real-time virtual classrooms, most held on Wednesday evenings, featuring lectures and discussion with scholars and experts - Complete weekly reading and writing assignments on Korean history, politics, and culture (roughly 4-6 hours per week) - Study US-Korea relations from the Korean War through contemporary issues - the course is taught in English and is not a language course - Write an independent research project culminating in a formal academic paper ## Who Should Apply US high school students in grades 10-12 with strong academic records and genuine interest in East Asia, diplomacy, or history.
