# TCR History Camp The Concord Review, the quarterly journal that has published exemplary high school history research papers since 1987, runs TCR History Camp - intensive online and in-person workshops in which secondary students learn and practice the historian's toolbox. In summer 2026 the camp offered four two-week online sessions from June 8 through July 31 plus weekend sessions, alongside in-person sites; additional online sessions run in fall (September 13-November 15, 2026, regular application deadline August 15) and winter, so students can join year-round. ## What You'll Do - Meet in two live Zoom sessions each weekday for instruction in research methods, sourcing, and historical argument - Conduct independent research and writing time between meetings, with a one-on-one instructor conference each week - Draft the foundations of a serious history research paper of 4,000-8,000 words - Learn the standards of The Concord Review, the journal many camp alumni eventually submit to ## Who Should Apply All current high school students and rising 9th graders. The application asks for a transcript and a preliminary research proposal with a topic description, three research questions, and five planned sources. Ambitious students aiming at humanities research, National History Day, or eventual TCR publication get the most from the camp. ## Outcomes Students leave with a research plan and draft sections of a publishable-caliber history paper, plus training few high schoolers receive in archival sourcing and long-form argument. Online sessions cost $3,650; the program's connection to The Concord Review gives strong writers a clear pathway toward one of the most respected high school publication credits.
