What Is UW Engineering Academy?
UW Engineering Academy is a free, one-week introductory program for greater-Seattle high-school students who are curious about engineering and have had limited access to engineering coursework, clubs, or competitive teams. Participants complete hands-on design challenges, meet UW engineering students and faculty, tour campus, and explore engineering disciplines and their community impact. No prior engineering experience is required.
The completed 2026 program ran July 20-24, Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the UW Seattle campus. Eligible applicants were current sophomores or juniors in 2025-26, attended high school in the greater Seattle area, and could arrange their own daily transportation. Donor support made participation free.
