# Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council (WACTAC) The Walker Art Center Teen Arts Council is a group of teen creators and advocates from across the Twin Cities who shape much of the Walker's teen programming. Members meet weekly during the school year to connect with contemporary art and artists, and design events for their peers, including the museum's annual Teen Takeover. ## What You'll Do - Meet weekly at the Walker during the school year with fellow teen artists and advocates - Work directly with contemporary artists and museum staff - Plan and produce teen-facing programs and events such as Teen Takeover - Earn a $30 stipend per meeting (issued monthly as a prepaid card), with bus tokens, gas cards, or rideshare support available for transportation ## Who Should Apply Students who will be in 11th or 12th grade during the program year and are curious about contemporary art and museums. You do not need to be an artist; interest in learning is the requirement. Applicants interview in person at the Walker in Minneapolis. ## Outcomes Members gain museum and event-production experience, sustained contact with working contemporary artists, leadership and collaboration skills, and a paid arts-sector credential valuable for college applications and creative careers.
