What Is NYO Jazz?
NYO Jazz is Carnegie Hall's summer jazz ensemble program for eligible instrumentalists. For 2027, applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, be ages 16-19 on July 1, 2027, and be enrolled in high school or equivalent homeschooling in 2026-27.
Applications opened September 10, 2026 and are due January 18, 2027. Application-fee waiver requests are due January 1, before submitting the application. Recommendations are due February 1, and decisions are scheduled for March 9. These are calendar dates; no cutoff clock or timezone is published.
