What Is Washington Aerospace Scholars?
Washington Aerospace Scholars is The Museum of Flight’s two-phase aerospace program for high-school juniors. Phase One is an independent University of Washington online course from November through March, with eight two-week lessons and a final project. Each lesson averages 15 hours of work. Students explore flight, aerospace design and space travel through reading, essays, math, discussions and hands-on projects.
Student applications for 2026–27 are open. The Museum says, “Applications will close after October 13th.” It accepts applicants on a rolling basis while room is available. The exact closing date, time and timezone are unconfirmed; check the student application now for current capacity and submission requirements. The separate teacher application is closed.
