# AFS Global You Adventurer AFS Global You Adventurer is the flagship virtual exchange program of AFS Intercultural Programs, the century-old exchange organization. Over five weeks, teens from dozens of countries work through about 16 hours of self-paced modules on intercultural theories and models, discuss them in interactive forums, and meet in four live video sessions guided by an AFS Qualified Facilitator. With more than 20 start dates in 2026, students can slot a cohort into their summer without travel or visa costs. ## What You'll Do - Complete 20 go-at-your-own-speed modules exploring culture, identity, communication styles, and global issues (about 2-3 hours per week) - Exchange perspectives with international peers in facilitated forum discussions - Join four live sessions with an AFS Qualified Facilitator and teens from around the world - Earn the AFS Global Competence Certificate, a credential built on AFS's educational research ## Who Should Apply Teens who are 14 to 17 years old on their program start date (students turning 18 during the program may still join), anywhere in the world. Enrollment is rolling - pick a start date and register; full scholarships (tuition fully waived, US$6 enrollment fee) and US$200 partial scholarships are awarded first-come, first-served. ## Outcomes Graduates earn a digital-badge-backed Global Competence Certificate from a recognized exchange organization - a meaningful credential for future study abroad, NSLI-Y-style applications, and college essays about global engagement. At US$315 (or less with scholarships), it is one of the lowest-cost ways to get a structured AFS experience.
