# Boston Ballet School Summer Dance Program The Summer Dance Program (SDP) is the flagship summer intensive of Boston Ballet School, the official school of Boston Ballet. Dancers spend four weeks in classical technique, pointe, variations, and complementary movement styles with the school's faculty in Boston; the 2026 program ran from June 27 move-in through July 25, with a parent observation day closing the session. ## What You'll Do - Train six days a week in ballet technique, pointe, variations, and complementary styles with Boston Ballet School faculty - Take placement classes at the start of the program so you train at the right level - Live in supervised residential housing (or commute as a day student) - Perform for families at the closing observation day, with top students invited toward the school's Pre-Professional Program ## Who Should Apply Dancers ages 12 to 18 when the program begins (11-year-olds may audition if they turn 12 by the start; international students must be at least 14). Admission is by audition: Boston Ballet School faculty hold auditions in about 29 cities across the U.S. and Canada each January, and pre-recorded video auditions are accepted (2026 videos were due February 28, $60 fee).
