What Is Boston Ballet School Summer Dance Program?

Boston Ballet School's Summer Dance Program is a four-week, audition-based intensive for serious dancers from around the world. The completed 2026 session ran June 28-July 25, with placement activities before regular classes and Boston University housing available to residential students. Training was 4-5 hours per day, six days per week; more than half of instruction was classical ballet, supplemented by other forms.

Applicants had to be 12-18 at the start. Eleven-year-olds could audition if turning 12 by opening, international applicants outside the United States and Canada had to be at least 14, and anyone turning 19 during the program had to commute. Female dancers were expected to arrive with pointe experience. Admission required one in-person or prerecorded-video audition. The 2026 in-person tour is concluded and video auditions closed March 15.
