What Is School of American Ballet Summer Course?
The School of American Ballet's completed 2026 Summer Course was a five-week, audition-only intensive in New York City for intermediate and advanced ballet students ages 12-18 as of July 31, 2026. Students train six days per week in technique and related classes; the published 2026 schedule ran June 29–July 31, with residence move-in June 28 and move-out August 1. Optional supervised residence was available, and most Summer Course students stayed on site. Every applicant must audition. The 2026 in-person audition tour took place in January, and the video-audition deadline was February 15; both have passed. SAB has not yet announced 2027 dates, auditions, or pricing. Historical 2026 required charges included $3,870 tuition and a $135 registration fee, with room and board and other residential charges separate. Scholarships included merit awards and limited need-based aid. Summer attendance can lead to Winter Term consideration for a small percentage of students, but an invitation is not guaranteed.
