What Is Boston University Summer Challenge?
BU Summer Challenge is a two-week, noncredit program where rising sophomores, juniors and seniors in Fall 2027 take two seminars and an admissions workshop. Residential and commuter options are offered. The tentative 2027 residential sessions are June 20-July 2, July 11-23 and July 25-August 6; commuter sessions start one day later. Dates are pending approval.
Applicants submit their own transcript, Fall 2026 report and 500-750 word statement, with additional international passport and English requirements. The application fee is $75 nonrefundable. The official page labels $3,989 commuter and $5,245 residential tuition as 2026 costs; 2027 tuition and application details are due December 17, with no current closing date. General financial aid is unavailable, but a separate limited Scott Simenas need-based award favors Boston public high-school students. Confirm that award’s current conditions and any deposit or extra expenses.
