# Careers in Science (CiS) Intern Program Careers in Science is the California Academy of Sciences' flagship youth program: a multi-year, year-round, paid internship and youth development program based at the Academy's museum, aquarium, and research collections in Golden Gate Park. Interns from San Francisco communities underrepresented in STEM - including girls and students of color - enter as rising sophomores or juniors and continue through high school graduation, getting paid above minimum wage to learn, teach, and do science. ## What You'll Do - Conduct fieldwork outdoors on Saturdays during the school year and on weekdays in summer - Facilitate science learning experiences for Academy visitors on the public museum floor - Attend interactive trainings twice a month on science communication and STEM careers with practicing professionals - Receive guidance on financial literacy and the college application process across your multi-year tenure ## Who Should Apply San Francisco residents attending SFUSD schools who are 9th or 10th graders enrolled full-time, can obtain a valid work permit, and can commit to year-round attendance including after-school, weekend, and summer hours.
