What Is Champions for Change?
Champions for Change is the Center for Native American Youth’s leadership initiative for Native youth creating positive community impact. Applications for the 2027 cohort are open from September 2 through October 15, 2026, following a deadline extension. The closing time and time zone are not published. Applicants answer short essay questions and submit two recommendation letters.
The programme generally selects five or six young people ages 14–24 for a yearlong relationship with CNAY, advocacy support, recognition events and at least one year on its Youth Advisory Board. It is not restricted to high-school grades. Joining CNAY’s applicant network is distinct from being selected as a Champion.
