What Is Davidson Young Scholars Program?
Davidson Young Scholars is a free, ongoing family-support and community program for profoundly or exceptionally gifted young people. New applicants must be 5-16 years old, be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, and document qualifying current testing. Accepted members may remain in the program through age 18. It is not a school, scholarship, college-prep credential, or promise of individualized therapy or academic placement.
The 2026 application is open. The remaining posted review-cycle dates are October 9 and November 20, 2026; the page gives no exact submission time. Decisions are sent two weeks after the applicable cycle date. A complete application includes family and school information, a parent questionnaire, an official complete testing report, one eligible non-relative recommender, and agreement forms from every person sharing legal custody. Three work samples are required for PSAT, PreACT, SAT, ACT, Davidson-specific ITBS, or any testing report more than four years old; otherwise the portfolio is optional.
