What Is Economics for Leaders?
Economics for Leaders (EFL) is the Foundation for Teaching Economics' selective, one-week residential summer program combining economic reasoning with leadership and decision-making. It runs at multiple university campuses, but FTE operates admission and programming; a host university is not granting admission or endorsing an applicant.
Applicants must be current high-school sophomores or juniors, attending in the summer before junior or senior year. The complete online application requires three personal-insight responses, a full transcript including in-progress work, one recommendation, and a nonrefundable $35 application fee. Applicants rank sites; FTE admits a qualified student to at most one, and no more than one student from the same high school is accepted to a particular site.
