# Folds of Honor Scholarships Folds of Honor funds education for the families of America's fallen and disabled service members and first responders. Unlike most military scholarships, its Children's Fund covers K-12 private school tuition and tutoring - up to $5,000 a year - so a middle or high school student's family can apply while the student is still in school, rather than waiting for senior year. Higher-education scholarships pay up to $2,500 per term ($1,250 part-time) and cover college, technical and trade schools, and post-graduate study. ## What You'll Do - Confirm eligibility as the dependent or spouse of a fallen or disabled U.S. service member, or of a fallen or catastrophically injured first responder - firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, and EMTs among them - Gather documentation: for first responder applicants, a completed First Responder Service Information Form plus a death certificate or an agency letter describing the event - Apply online during the February 1 to March 31 window - Watch for award notification by the end of July and complete acceptance and initial check-in by September 15 ## Who Should Apply Students in grades 6-12 attending or hoping to attend private school whose families qualify through the Children's Fund, and graduating seniors headed to college, trade school, or technical training. Spouses of eligible service members and first responders may also apply. ## Outcomes Recipients receive tuition support that renews through an annual reapplication, and join one of the largest scholarship communities serving military and first responder families in the country.
