# From the Top Learning and Media Lab Fellowship From the Top is America's largest national platform celebrating classically trained young musicians, best known for its long-running radio program heard nationwide. Its Learning and Media Lab Fellowship is the pathway onto the show: dedicated musicians ages 8-18 - soloists on all instruments, singers, composers, and ensembles - audition to become Fellows, then record an appearance on From the Top's national radio program and podcast. ## What You'll Do - Audition through From the Top's application process, including virtual live audition rounds held during the year - Complete a six-week online program blending artistry, storytelling, and media skills with fellow young musicians - Record your appearance on From the Top's national radio program and podcast - Plan and implement a community engagement activity and collaborate on digital media projects ## Who Should Apply Classical instrumentalists, vocalists, composers, and ensembles ages 8-18. Fellows with demonstrated financial need may apply for the Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award, a need-based award of up to $10,000; the next published deadline for that award is September 1, 2026. Auditions are national - students from every state apply, and no conservatory affiliation is needed. ## Outcomes Fellows join alumni ranks that include many of today's leading classical artists, gain a national broadcast credit heard by hundreds of thousands of listeners, and build media and storytelling skills few young performers ever get - with meaningful scholarship support available to those who qualify.
