What Is Global Online Academy Summer Courses?

Summer@GOA offers high-school students seven-week online courses spanning business, computing, engineering, humanities, mathematics, health, psychology and the arts. Courses are primarily asynchronous, so students generally do not attend a fixed full-class meeting, but they have regular teacher check-ins, peer collaboration, deadlines and real-world project work. The average GOA class across its catalog has a 1:18 teacher-to-student ratio.

In 2026, more than 20 summer courses ran June 15-July 31. Most required 10-12 hours each week; Algebra II, Geometry and Precalculus required 15-20. Most cost $840 for students at member schools or $1,260 for other students; those three math courses cost $1,200 or $1,500. Students earned a narrative grade report and could request an official GOA transcript, but each home school decided whether to award credit.
