What Is Citywide Poets?
Citywide Poets is InsideOut Literary Arts' free after-school writing community for teens. Professional writers lead weekly workshops where participants create and revise work, discover published and performing writers, and build relationships with peers. Active poets may publish in the annual anthology and join readings, open mics, poetry slams, and a youth Poetry Convention.
Registration is open for the 2026/27 school year. Additional selective pathways include the Performance Troupe, which requires an audition and interview and adds coaching and public performances, and the Youth Advisory Board, whose members help design programs and events while building artistic and professional leadership. Participating high-school seniors may separately apply for a scholarship covering up to USD 25,000 per year of full-time undergraduate tuition for up to four years.
