What Is JBFC Filmmaking Camp?
Jacob Burns Film Center's current program matching the stale “Creative Culture Summer” listing is Filmmaking Camp. In high-school sessions, students entering grades 10–12 work in groups of no more than 10 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for two weeks. They pitch and storyboard ideas, compose shots, rotate through film-crew and on-camera roles, edit with Adobe Premiere Pro, receive peer and instructor feedback, and their work at the JBFC Theater.
Summer 2026 registration is closed. The high-school sessions ran July 6–17 and August 10–21. The early price was $2,100 through February 15, rising to $2,200; limited need-based full scholarships were first-come/first-served with a March 15 deadline. JBFC has not announced 2027 registration, dates, grades, price, or scholarship deadline, so March 15, 2027 is not a valid projected deadline.
