What Is Tikvah Scholars Program?
The Tikvah Scholars Program is a residential seminar institute for current 10th, 11th and 12th graders. The completed 2026 cohort lived in Princeton, New Jersey, from July 27-August 6 while the program was hosted in cooperation with Princeton University's James Madison Program. Faculty-led seminars examine Jewish thought, Zionism and Israel, American ideas and institutions, statesmanship, philosophy, literature and culture through close reading, argument and respectful debate.
Tikvah describes a Jewish intellectual community open across school types and levels of Jewish-study experience. Prior Jewish studies and personal religious observance are not required, but participants must follow the program's halakhic standards in shared spaces, including Shabbat, kashrut and modest behavior. The 2026 cohort was planned for about 65 students.
