What Is Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Jazz Academy?
Summer Jazz Academy is Jazz at Lincoln Center's residential intensive for 50 advanced instrumentalists and vocalists in grades 9–12. The completed 2026 session ran July 12–26 at Bard College and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Students worked in big bands, small combos, private lessons, performance master classes, instrumental studios, and courses on jazz language, history, aesthetics, culture, performance practice, and pedagogy, culminating in public performances.
Admission is holistic and audition-based. The 2026 page required an application, a nonrefundable application fee, and separate 3–4 minute audition videos with suitable accompaniment.
