What Is Kiwanis Key Leader?
Key Leader is Kiwanis International's volunteer-led, in-person service-leadership experience for graduating eighth graders and high-school students ages 14-18. Kiwanis, Key Club, or other service-program membership is not required. A typical event runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday noon at a residential camp, with lodging, meals, trained adult supervision, large- and small-group discussion, personal reflection, team challenges, and work on leadership, growth mindset, effective communication, meaningful connection, and global citizenship. Four 2026 weekends remain after August 20: October 16-18 in Estes Park, Colorado; October 23-25 in Brookston, Indiana; November 6-8 in Casco, Maine; and November 20-22 in Elgin, Texas. Registration and all-inclusive pricing are local and vary by event; schools, Kiwanis clubs, and community sponsors often subsidize or fully cover attendance.
