What Is Kiwanis Builders Club?
Builders Club is Kiwanis International's student-led service program for middle-years and middle-school students, typically ages 12–14. Members elect officers, lead meetings and committees, choose community needs, and organize service, advocacy, donation, and fundraising projects with faculty and Kiwanis advisors. Kiwanis reports more than 1,100 clubs, 23,000 members, and activity in 21 countries.
A student joins an existing club by contacting its faculty advisor, getting parent or guardian permission, and attending a meeting. If no club exists, a school or community organization can charter one, usually with a sponsoring Kiwanis club. There is no Kiwanis-wide individual dues structure, although a local club may adopt minimal member dues. The sponsor normally pays institutional charter and renewal fees. Local calendars, member conditions, projects, and costs vary.
